Sberbank presents its artificial intelligence solutions at the International Conference on Machine Learning
Sberbank’s DS/AI experts participated in the ICML for the second year in a row. Sberbank’s stand featured the latest machine learning solutions, including Sber.DS — a platform for building and validating models — and the iPavlov project. Sberbank was a silver partner of the ICML in 2019.Sberbank has presented the artificial intelligence solutions developed by the bank and its partners at the 36th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). This year the bank was a silver partner of ICML, the leading conference on machine learning and AI, which took place in Los Angeles on 9–15 June 2019. In his presentation titled ‘Sberbank’s AI Transformation’, which focused on Sberbank’s AI projects, Managing Director of the Data Research Centre Andrey Chertok presented the 7 Minutes project that uses AI technology to decide whether to lend to legal entities in a matter of minutes. Sberbank’s speakers took part in the official programme of the conference, and also initiated discussions with experts at the bank’s stand, which demonstrated DS/AI projects and the bank’s programme of short presentations throughout the ICML. The stand also featured one of Sberbank’s partners — the iPavlov project. The project’s creators presented DeepPavlov, an open-source library for developing dialogue assistants. Experts from iPavlov talked about applying AI to resolve the business tasks of automating the development of dialogue systems and analysing text. Recently iPavlov together with its team from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology was included in the shortlist for Alexa Prize Socialbot Grand Challenge 3 — an international social bot creation competition among universities. Sberbank’s project — the Sber.DS platform for building and validating models, which is intended for both experienced AI specialists and business users who do not possess programming skills — was demonstrated at the bank’s stand during the ICML. Sber.DS has a number of capabilities — from using standard modules developed to verify hypotheses to applying advanced modelling methods. The scientific conference ICML (Los Angeles, USA), which is held by the International ML Society, is one of the biggest and most influential conferences in the area of global machine learning and AI research. It has been held since 1980 and is a recognised global venue for meetings between leading DS/AI specialists. In 2018 it was attended by more than 8,000 industry specialists from all over the world.
